Okay, let’s talk turkey burgers……my husband was really not interested in trying a spinach and rosemary turkey burger (he thought it sounded too healthy, which in his mind meant yucky) but once he did, he asks for it now! Same with my kids! It’s true! I eat mine on top of a salad, but serve theirs on buns with a sriracha (only the hubs) mayo and sweet potato fries!
So….if you’re looking for a healthy, family friendly recipe….keep reading.
Ingredients:
– 1 lb ground turkey
– Italian seasoning
– fresh spinach leaves
– fresh rosemary
– sweet potatoes
– sriracha sauce
– mayonnaise
– olive oil
– salt
– pepper
– garlic powder
– buns or a salad
Start by setting the oven to bake on 400 degrees. Line a sheet pan with foil and chop your sweet potatoes. Layer them on the sheet and coat with olive oil, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Bake for 25 -35 min
Now to start the burgers. Chop the spinach and rosemary very fine. Mix it in a medium mixing bowl with the ground turkey. Add the Italian seasoning and mix more. Then form your patties.
Add olive oil to a pan on medium heat. Cook the burgers for 4-5 minutes on each side in order to cook them all the way through.
Once they’re done, put one on a toasted bun with sriracha mayo and sliced avocado. You can add some purple onion if you want too. I eat mine over a spinach salad with olive oil and lemon. Voila! Easy, quick, family friendly weeknight recipe!
