As a young girl, I remember loving makeup, and I see it now with my girls.   They are both into it  and love it.   I mean, what is it about buying makeup that is so satisfying?   It makes you feel a certain way, maybe pretty.   Maybe it’s not your thing….and that’s great too.   We hope you find something today to try that makes you happy!

  • Foundation  – Dew Skin Moisturizer No. 2….light and just enough coverage!
  • Concealer – Touchup Skin Concealer Pen in Fair
  • Eyeshadows – Velvet Eyeshadow Palette – Statement….I like having the option to easily transition from day to evening and add a little extra drama!
  • Eyeliner – Precision Liquid Eyeliner….this took some practice, but I love the control it gives me to have a really thin, everyday liner look….or TIP: up the glam and add a thicker line topped with a shadow for a colored liner finish!
  • Eyebrows – Color Define Brow Pencil in Dark
  • Blush – Satin Powder Blush…I have an older set, but what I use is similar two different ones depending on a more natural look (Melon) or more of a pop of color (Passionfruit)
  • Lipstick – Color Intense Lipstick…Everyday I wear a shade similar to Backstage…but for girls’ night I literally wear Girls’ Night 🙂
  • Lip Gloss – Lip Gloss…for day I top my lipstick with Bare Shimmer to add just a little shine! For girls’ night out I top my lipstick with Poppy Shimmer…this is such a fun subtle and fresh pop of color worn by itself, too!
  • Best value set – Flawless in Five….it includes six items (foundation, concealer, brows, mascara, blush, and lip gloss)….when I am running low on multiple of my basics, this is what I order!
  • Mascara – while I do love Beautycounter’s volumizing mascara that comes in the Flawless in Five set, I mostly use Pacifica Dream Big Lash Extending 7 In 1 Mascara Black Magic…it is super amazing!!! One setting lengthens, and then the second setting volumizes!! Love, love, love!!
  • Beauty blenders – I have this BEAKEY 5 Pcs Makeup Sponge Set from Amazon….they are kind of amazing, and I’m not sure how I ever applied makeup without them! My concealer goes on soooo smoothly!
  • Makeup Brushes – I have some really, really old brushes so I linked a really affordable set that is super similar to what I have
  • Pencil sharpener – this one is similar to what I own
  • Brush cleaner – there are several “natural” brush solutions on Pinterest, and I usually go with one of those, but this brush cleaner set is on my buy list because it makes cleaning…and then drying so easy!!

 

 

Chan’s Makeup PRODUCTS

  • Foundation  – I use Clinique Even Better foundation.   It has coverage, which I need, and doesn’t break me out (I am prone to break outs but this one was developed by a dermatologist).   In winter I use Neutral, in summer I use Honey Wheat, and other times of the year I combine the two for the right shade.  It also has SPF 15 which is sometimes all I get on my face.
  • Concealer – My favorite is Cleu De Peau in Ivory, but it’s $78 and while worth it, I don’t wear it everyday because it’s expensive.   I save it for more special occasions.   For everyday I use either Laura Mercier’s Secret Camoflauge, or Charlotte Tilbury’s Magic Away Concealer
  • Eyeshadows – I usually buy a nudes palette.  I have Mac, Beautycounter, Charlotte Tilbury, and Elf, so depending on price point or where I am when I need a new one, is what I buy.
  • Eyebrows –  I use a dark brown eyeshadow and a tiny brush to apply
  • Eyeliner – I use a reddish brown eyeshadow for my eyeliner and use with a small, angular brush (if I want more defined, I dip the brush in water and then in the eyeshadow)
  • Lipstick – I use Charlotte Tilbury’s lip liner in pillow talk and the lip stick
  • Lip Gloss – For going out, I use Seduction as my gloss over lipstick, but for everyday, I use mac lipsheen in Boy Bait for a nude lip.
  • Mascara – I have used Lancome Oscillating mascara for YEARS!     I have gone in and out of trying other products, but this one is what works best for my lashes.
  • Beauty blenders – I have this BEAKEY 5 Pcs Makeup Sponge Set from Amazon….they are kind of amazing, and I’m not sure how I ever applied makeup without them! My concealer goes on soooo smoothly!
  • Makeup Brushes – I use a mixture of Laura Mercier, Bobbi Brown, and Chantecaille makeup brushes.   I have had them for a long time, and I was and dry them to keep them looking great
