#GivingTuesday

Today is #givingtuesday which has become the biggest donation day of the year!   It is a movement to create an international day of charitable giving at the beginning of the Christmas and holiday season.    Are you looking for a way to give back this holiday season?    If you don’t already have a charity that you give to, here are a few that are near and dear to our hearts.    Remember, any amount counts, from $1 to $100.

Myhre Syndrome

A friend of mine has a daughter that was recently diagnosed, and to say it is rare is an understatement.   There are only 7 cases in Texas, and Massachusettes General Hospital is in need of money for research for this genetic disorder.    I can tell you, the sweet little girl that I see may not show symptoms today, but it is real, and it is scary, and so little is known about Myhre’s Syndrome.   Read all about it, and donate directly through the link above.

Children’s Cancer

We can all agree that Cancer is not fun and these days it hits close to home for way too many of us.    The Sunshine Kids is a non-profit organization helps children specifically with cancer.   My family has been giving to them for as many years as I can remember.  click on the link above to read about what they do and donate directly.

Stop ALD

This story can stop me in my tracks.   ALD is a genetic disease that affects only 1/18,000 and that is even too many.    My friends had a healthy vibrant young boy that lead a normal life.   After Hurricane Harvey, there was a lot of devastation, including their home, so they thought their son was suffering from PTSD.    It was not, and their lives were forever changed in September of 2017.   Dean Stanley passed away at only 9 years old, a few short months after being diagnosed.   I pray for testing and knowledge for all the families who will ever hear the letters ALD.   Click on the link above for more information and to donate directly.

Cancer Sucks

A friend of mine was diagnosed with a rare form of liver cancer and 8 weeks later, at the age of 39, her battle ended.    The last time I saw her was at MD Anderson in Houston, (they are currently treating 3 other friends of mine too) and it’s an amazing facility with doctors and nurses caring and treating so many.    Click on the link above to donate to the hospital directly.

These charities are all reputable, and researched, and if you feel the desire and lead to give, thank you.   If not, pray for those who are affected.    Have a blessed day.
