Mom Chat: Acknowledging Our Children

Five minutes of acknowledgement can be worth 24 hours of misunderstanding and meltdowns.

What do we mean by that? Well, it’s pretty simple. Even at a very, very young age our children want to be heard. They want the same respect we wish for as adults. And what are we teaching them if we constantly say, “one second…” and cut them off all of the time? We are teaching them that our time is more important than theirs. How can we build up our children when we don’t teach them the root of respect? I don’t mean that they should interrupt constantly. That teaches nothing. BUT acknowledgement can teach them that they matter. Their little voice is heard. This is actually a great life lesson at any stage. Check out our “mom chat” where we discuss instances in our own lives and what those five minutes did for us!

And please feel free to leave a comment, an idea, a story in your own lives where you have had a success or a challenge with this very subject!

Lastly, if there is anything you are wishing to hear from us, please, please let us know! As we mentioned in our vlog, it takes a village, and we want you to be part of ours and we would like to be part of yours. Our Mom Chat section on the blog is a space where we can share ideas and parenting tips!
