When we moved into our house, the previous owners left these great black pedestal flower pots! They are very pretty and stately, but they were this flat black color, and I felt they needed a little updating to pop against our brick house. Chalk paint to the rescue!

I used Annie Sloan French Linen as my base coat…a pretty light coat! Then I dry brushed with Annie Sloan Old Ochre. The black still bled through so I re-applied both of those coats, and it looked great! These pots had so many ridges that the white picked up that movement so well!

Then it was time to plant, and I think they turned out so well! I love how easy chalk paint can transform even the smallest projects!
