I recently acquired some pieces from an auction to refinish! I am one of those people that simply needs a creative outlet. It is a delight in my life, and I am lucky enough to be able to fulfill that need.
One of the pieces I grabbed was a beautiful vintage side table. It is a regency style with two drawers. I love that it is both substantial and airy, and the height is perfect for a bedside table!
As always, I started with my prep. Wipe the surface, remove knobs, fill any imperfections if needed.
Then it was time to paint!! It only took one coat of Annie Sloan Duck Egg…truly my favorite color in her selection! I didn’t heavily coat the piece because some of the darker staining added character when it was allowed to show through in the nooks and crannies!
Next, I dry brushed it with Old Ochre. I am still refining my dry brushing techniques, but it is a blast when it works!! And this one did….love how it turned out. After I sanded the corners slightly for some light distressing, I finished with a coat of clear wax!
This bad boy will find a home in my guest room for now until I sell it later! Sometimes it is fun to bring pieces in for a little bit and then move them on out to another happy home!
I can ship it if you are interested in purchasing! It is for sale for $350!
I love this will you please teach me some of your Tricks? We need new pieces desperately!!
Anytime, my dear!!
